1. Purpose and acceptance

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the use of the getqoot.com website and the Qoot mobile application (together, the "Service"), operated by Serenity Media, a French SASU registered under SIREN number 999 352 842, with its registered office at 8 bis Hameau de Girou, 09300 Villeneuve-d'Olmes, Ariège, France ("we", "our").

By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Qoot is a halal-oriented nutrition tracking app that offers, among other things: meal photo analysis, barcode scanning, an assistant ("Qoot Coach"), macro and weight tracking, and prayer times. The Service combines free features and paid features (see section 6).

3. Eligibility

The Service is intended for people aged at least 16. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least this age and have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

5. Important notice: nature of the information provided

The Service provides neither medical advice, nor professional dietary advice, nor religious certification.

  • Nutritional values (calories, macros) and food identification are estimates generated by artificial intelligence, provided for indicative purposes only. They may contain errors or inaccuracies.
  • The halal status displayed (for example "likely halal") is an indicative estimate and does not constitute an official halal certification. You remain solely responsible for verifying whether the food you consume is permissible, including by checking labels, official certifications and, where appropriate, a competent religious authority.
  • Answers provided by "Qoot Coach" are generated automatically and do not replace the advice of a healthcare professional, a dietitian or a religious scholar.

For any health concern, consult a qualified healthcare professional. You use the Service with knowledge of these limitations and at your own responsibility.

6. Subscriptions and payments

The Service offers a free version and a paid subscription ("Qoot Premium"):

  • Indicative pricing: €4.99 per month or €29.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial (prices may vary by country and according to the terms in effect at the time of purchase).
  • Billing and management: subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, and managed by our technical provider RevenueCat. Managing, renewing and cancelling your subscription is done from your App Store or Google Play account settings.
  • Automatic renewal: unless cancelled before the end of the current period, the subscription renews automatically for an identical period. The free trial, if not cancelled before it ends, converts into a paid subscription.
  • Refunds: refund requests are subject to Apple's or Google's policies, depending on the platform through which you subscribed.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for unlawful purposes; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems; disrupt the operation of the Service; copy, resell or exploit the Service without authorisation; or upload unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of third parties.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its brand, logo, design and content are the property of Serenity Media or its licensors and are protected. These Terms grant you no ownership rights in the Service, only a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use it.

Content you create or upload (for example your meal photos) remains your property; you grant us only the licence necessary to operate the Service (for example, processing a photo to analyse it).

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service, including for maintenance or improvement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is". We cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service, nor for decisions you make based on the estimates it provides (see section 5). Nothing in these Terms limits our liability where the law prohibits it.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access in the event of a breach of these Terms.

12. Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of your relationship with the Service.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, the French courts shall have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers. In accordance with applicable regulations, you may also turn to a consumer mediator.

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms. In the event of a material change, we will notify you by email or within the app. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document.
